Past: rayne's life has been followed by a constant pile of bodies. it seems that everyone she loves ends up dead in some gruesome way or another and there's nothing she can do to stop it. her parents and her brother were royal escorts. when she was only eight years old, her parents were slaughtered in her home. the culprit(s) was and still is unknown and it's something she's never forgotten. at fourteen, she was left to fend for herself when her brother was killed protecting his charge. she was lucky enough to be offered a place among the staff of the nobles whom her family had been protecting, growing and learning so she could become the best escort possible. at eighteen she was officially an escort and did her job impeccably. unfortunately, she only pursued it a short while as more bodies were added to her seemingly ever growing pile. rayne decided, eventually, it was best for other people that she break off and pursue something that left her on her own as opposed to around others. it was safer for them that way.
