Myth
Thought to be descendants of the fallen angel Ly`khiem, this celestial being had rebelled against the gods, sick of their overlooking of all of those below themselves. Upon trying to overtake the heavens and the gods, the angel was grasped by the very hand that had created him and was thrown onto the world below them, not only causing the celestial eternal exile out of the heavens, but also splitting of the worlds into what they are now. The eternal one had then gathered every creature imaginable, willing or not, and had prepared them for battle and a siege upon the heavens, but this was a futile effort and would not work, for the gods were too powerful for such trivial workings. The angel, in the middle of battle, was ripped apart; his very essence shredded from existence. However, the eternal one, as a final act of rebellion, had placed a small portion of his eternal damned spirit on every single creature that had dared to oppose the Gods, and for this reason, it is believed that the demons are long lived, acquire power, and seemed to be cursed by any and all creature. Or, this is what the humans have believed. But what good had human imagination come up with?
Description/Type
Demons; Given their name due to a many an odd form and peculiar abilities. There are many types of demons and while some appear as monsters, there are some that appear to be mostly human. The only classification that can be made about a demon is the power ranking which follows as such:
S - Highest level of all. Unmatched in strength and intelligence. Most hold some type of ranking within the Atani Palurin.
A - Second highest, excellent warrior and able to rule clans or even large portions of Atani Palurin.
B - Middle level, exceptional fighter and high ranking within demon world for most don’t make it to this power level.
C - Second lowest level. Makes a good soldier in a demon army and a simple servant.
D - Lowest level of demon, usually not too smart and more of wanderers and thieves.
Can only be A or S class with Moderator approval
Dominant Demon Clans
Elemental Demons- The pure blooded ancestors of Ly'Khiem or so the ancient legends proclaim. Although the demons originated in the traditional Air, Fire, Water, Earth quartet many other types of intermediate species popped up through breeding with each other. These demons are proficient in magic for any element that they are born into. By far the most common and populous of Laekens citizens they all come from different tribal heritages and customs making for a truly unique blend. Some take up traits of elements directly while others are closer to animal types that have elemental magic. Elemental Demons can fill a variety of roles in modern society from beggar to aristocracy. Blood Demons - A tribe of demons that live alone on Crimson Isle, an island off from the south of Atani. Blood Demons get their name because they are practitioners in the art of Blood Magic. With Blood Magic, all Blood Demons are able to coat their weapons in their own blood, and when they strike a victim with their blade, the victim's blood can be poisoned if the victim has the same iron concentration as the Blood Demon. Blood Demons are also able to create minions with their own blood. Blood minions are lower class demons, but their abilities depend on the power of their master. Most blood minions can be messengers to their masters, but blood minions are also used to kill and corrupt people, but this depends on the power of their master. Aside from poisonous weapons and blood minions, if a blood demon is powerful enough (A or S class) they are able to control the mind of a weak-minded fool and have them do their bidding. Shadow Demons - A race of demons that are mostly spawned in places without light. Their ancestors are said to have originated from the Laeken thieves Guild, which is why most shadow demons are often found in southwest Laeken forests. Shadow demons are usually acrobatic with light armor and weapons. They make great assassins, thieves, and scouts, and are able to melt into shadow and reappear elsewhere. They are weak to light and have a variety of aspects that make them different than other demon. For starters, shadow demons are very spiritual and believe in a deity known as the Nightmother. Shadow demons are able to communicate with spirits through the Void Gaze, which they can get into by gazing through mirrors. With the Void Gaze, they are able to gather information they require, such as track down their enemies.
What the shadow demons beleive is that the void is where any demons that are judged and found guilty of sin are cast into the pits. If they are judged and found innocent, they are led to safety by the Nightmother Herself. Demons that are cast into this void are called The Hounds of the Void by other shadow demons.
Kron - Known also as demons of Light, this race of demons are far more vicious than their rivals, the Shadow Demons. They are worshipers of the cruel sun deity, Dazzel. Although most of their kind study to become Priests and Mages, there are a select few that train to be cut throat assassins. Attributes
Depending on the type of demon that they are, most demons are proficient in the skill or power that defines their kind. Along with this, demons have an unnatural and unusual strength about them.
Powers
Demons are capable of four of the following: Flight - The ability to fly Wiser Magic - The ability to use a more “book learned magic”, beyond that which is given by nature. Less natural magic ability is required to use such magic. This includes offensive elemental magic, summoning, and potion making. Darker Magic - The ability to use what is the darker side of the magical understanding, and an abomination to the beauty of nature. This includes necromancy, witchcraft, and curses. Stealth - The ability to keep well hidden and preserved within their surroundings. Heightened Senses - The ability to be more aware of their surroundings than others. Animate Shape Shifting - The ability to temporarily change their shape to that of an animate object, usually one that is considered “living”. Animal Speech - The ability to verbally communicate with any animal. Levitation - The ability to travel through the air. Seduction - The ability to convince another to do anything by way of emotional, psychological, or sexual persuasion. Natural Resistance - The ability to resist all poisons and normally unbearable temperature changes. Water Breathing - The ability to breathe under all waters.
Weaknesses
No one is quite sure why, but iron is more harmful to demons that any other mineral or substance.
Available Occupations
Demon Lord - Demon Lords are usually S Class demons. They own their own territory, as well as their own army (Must have Administrator Approval). Warrior - Those chosen to be warriors are trained first and foremost to be a soldier. Hunter - An occupation that will keep them afoot about many a thing outside the everyday bore of life. Tavern Keeper - A keeper of a tavern Prison Guard - Those who keep the prisoners in their jail cells. Escort - One who guards nobles and important figures across treacherous and dangerous terrains. Necromancer - Those who dabble in Darker Magic to raise the dead for their own purposes or the purposes of others (Must have Darker Magic). Blacksmith- One who crafts weapons and armor, along with everyday things (Must have Crafting). Assassin- A mercenary hired to kill certain people. Has no allegiance other than to whoever pays the most.
